Xiao-Qian (Sharon) Hu

Sharon was born and raised in Guangdong, China. She received her BSc in Rehabilitation from Zhongshan Medical School at Sun Yat-sen University. Sharon then earned her Master in Medical Sciences and PhD in Neuroscience at the LKS Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong. During her doctoral studies under the supervision of Professor Ying-Shing Chan, Sharon specialized in neural electrophysiology and investigated the circuitry mechanisms that underlie distinct vestibular behaviors. In Dr. Chiu’s Lab, Sharon is investigating how neurons interact with the immune system during meningeal infections. In her free time, Sharon enjoys playing tennis, running and dancing.
