Seung Ah Choi

Seung Ah Choi was born and raised in South Korea. She is currently a fourth-year Ph.D. student in Dr. Won-woo Lee’s lab at Seoul National University College of Medicine. As a visiting student researcher, she joined the Chiu lab through the Harvard-SNUH-SNUCM Collaborative Project. Her research focuses on the project titled “Determining the role of the microbiome in pain and neuroinflammation.” In her home lab, she has been studying how aging affects monocytes from metabolic and epigenetic perspectives, as well as investigating how fine dust exacerbates central nervous system autoimmune diseases such as experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). In her free time, Seung Ah enjoys chatting with friends, taking walks, running, and discovering new restaurants.
