Naija Barakat was born and raised in Chesterfield, a suburb of Richmond, Virginia. She graduated with a degree in Neuroscience from Washington and Lee University in May of 2024. Previously, she studied the relationship between early life trauma, feeding behavior, and inflammation in Dr. Sora Shin’s lab at Virginia Tech. Currently, she is a trainee in the Harvard Program in Neuroscience Post-Baccalaureate (PiNBAC) program. In her free time, she enjoys reading, baking, and playing volleyball.
