Chirag Vasavda

Postdoctoral Researcher
M.D./Ph.D. in Neuroscience- Johns Hopkins University

Chirag grew up in the Bay Area of California. After graduating from Duke University with a BS in Chemical Biology, he enrolled at Johns Hopkins, where he earned his MD and PhD in Neuroscience under Dr. Solomon Snyder. His graduate thesis leveraged chemical biology and pharmacology to study how small molecules and endogenous metabolites shape itch and pain. He most recently completed his internal medicine internship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and is now a senior dermatology resident at Harvard. Chirag’s aspiration is to dissect the molecular mechanisms underlying somatosensation and uncover tools to relieve the itch, pain, and discomfort that so often accompany disease.
