Allegra Carlotta Scarpa
Allegra is from a small town near Venice, Italy. She moved to the United States to attend Dartmouth College. Here she majored in human and molecular biology and worked on identifying epigenetic biomarkers of breast cancer risk in the Christensen lab. After graduation she was hired as a Pre-doctoral Research Associate at Adimab to develop antibody therapeutics. She is currently a PhD student in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences program and is co-mentored between David Sinclair and Isaac Chiu. Her project aims to restore the age-related loss of epigenetic integrity in DRG sensory neurons to ameliorate inflammation and decline in immune function. Outside of the lab, Allegra loves skiing, hiking, playing tennis, reading books and spending time with friends (especially while eating good food).
