Marie has been a member of the Chiu lab since May 2026. She earned her Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine where she studied epigenetic regulation of cell cycle exit in cerebellar granule neurons. Prior to joining the lab, she worked as a senior scientist in industry exploring novel therapeutic applications for oncology pharmaceuticals; as a lab manager/researcher in academia studying vocal communication and adult neurogenesis in songbird and rodent models and object recognition in non-human primates; and as a lab manager/instructor teaching undergraduates wet lab techniques in cellular, molecular, and systems neuroscience.
