Felipe was born and grew up in Londrina, a city located in the south of Brazil. He earned his B. S. in Biomedicine, and his Master`s and PhD degree in Experimental Pathology at the State University of Londrina (UEL). Felipe previously worked with prof. Dr. Waldiceu Ap. Verri Jr at UEL where he described the therapeutic potential of new compounds that modulate immune responses to treat inflammatory pain and was awarded the best thesis prize by the Brazilian government in 2017 (CAPES Thesis Prize). Felipe is currently working with Dr Isaac Chiu to understand how the interplay between neuronal signaling and immune cells contributes to diseases caused by bacteria in order to find new approaches to treat infectious diseases. Detailed information about current and past research here.
