We are super excited that Kim Meerschaert and Yangyang Zhu's paper was published today in Science magazine: [https://www.science.org/stoken/author-tokens/ST-2027/full](https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.science.org_stoken_author-2Dtokens_ST-2D2027_full&d=DwMGaQ&c=WO-RGvefibhHBZq3fL85hQ&r=2iJUorxSxTEj1A0nnsKXPTXS7GLu8JsKdAEbnE-Qgmg&m=PoY9BHObNpbOqoolENo7MKvQ4I425NB5LONmyVxk1ueJZpiGQVJY9_aa72qI94cp&s=BQl1My29eujhvlwU0CSX4lgLWnd8uBgp41uSkop9ISo&e=).

This was a fruitful collaboration between our lab and Dr. Christophe Benoist's lab. Through a chemogenetic screen for neuroimmune interactions in the gut, we found a novel role for Trpv1+ nociceptors in suppressing T regulatory cells in the gut. This finding connects pain signaling with Treg function. Please see also the excellent Perspective in Science written by Dr. Nathalie Vergnolle: <https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.adq9533>

Congratulations Kim, Yangyang, Christophe, and all the lab!
